Safe Arrival - Day 1

Well the trip has been great so far. We arrived in Sault Ste. Marie after a basically uneventful trip at about midnight last night and Pastor Roberts showed us out to our accommodations. The place turned out to be rustic... well, rough puts it best. A few of the bathrooms had problems so it made an interesting experience after the teens had been in the bus for over 3 hours. The teens took it really well though and I have not heard one complain. We woke for breakfast at 9 am and headed to Maranatha Baptist Church for 10:30 to begin setting up for VBS. Everyone worked hard and we had basically everything set up before lunch. All the grocery stores were closed today, but we did find a Mom and Pop store to get the necessities to last until tomorrow. During the afternoon we went door knocking and made a lot of excellent contacts for tomorrow. The teens and I have a little competition going to see who can get more kids. Today I got 3 homes with 5 kids and they have 7 kids. For the first afternoon of visiting that was great. Later in the afternoon we went to the KOA campground for a little relaxation time and enjoyed some mini Putt and elliptical bikes. The teens all seem to be in good spirits and having a great time. We are excited about starting the VBS at 6:30 tomorrow night! Please continue to pray for God to bless our work this week and our time together.

All because of Christ,
Pastor Eagles
