Our first VBS ...33 children!

We had another busy... and successful day today. It is so exciting to see the look on the teens faces when they see God using them in ministry. The day started this morning leaving our rooms at 8 am to pick up a few of the teens from Maranatha Baptist and meet for breakfast at the church. After breakfast and a devotional, we hit the houses again. It was an encouraging morning...except for the fact that I am losing...terribly losing our competition to see who can get the most kids to VBS. It is kind of a winning situation for us anyway though. The teens are doing an excellent job.

During the afternoon we took a trip to Hiawatha National Park. We looked at the waterfall on one of the hiking trails and had some nice "relax time." Many of the teens found some "interesting articles" and "non-tourist" attractions.

At 4:30 we had supper and then prepared for the kids. We didn't know exactly how many to expect but were excited to see for our first VBS this evening 33 children! Over 20 of those were first time visitors ...most of them ones the teens had invited. It was so exciting to see the look on the teens faces when someone came on the bus or drove up in the car that they had invited. I wish you could all be here to see it. We can all see the Lord working here this week. Thanks so much to those of you who are praying diligently... you too have a tremendous part in this ministry.

Serving together,
Pastor Eagles
